He Loves Me Not
Student Gold ADDY winner
Challenge
Create a poster illustrating through a type solution one of the human
rights-for girls and women to be free from violence and for their right
to physical and mental integrity, to freedom from discrimination and to
the highest standard of health-as listed by the World Health
Organization.
Final Solution
The final poster uses a common childhood pastime-picking daisies- to
ironically symbolize the horrors of female genital mutilation. FGM is
internationally recognized as a violation of the human rights of girls
and women and currently 100 to 140 million women are living with its
consequences. Each letter in the headline “he loves me not” was
constructed by sewing daisy petals onto the letterforms.
