Step one: I prepare the foundation for my drawing. The faded transfer will give the image a touch of vintage. The stained background, with its splashes and splatters, will be a great contrast to the photorealistic drawing.
Step two: Now the actual drawing begins, for which I use normal colored pencils.
Step three: Layer by layer, the drawing develops.
Step four: Slowly, the scooter starts taking shape.
Step five: The "stacking" of several fine layers of pencil strokes, allows me to create subtle and smooth color gradients.
Step six: I concentrate mostly on the reflections and glares on the metal and chrome. Those elements especially give the image depth.
The finished image!
A detailed drawing of the reflections in the chrome make the whole image appear photorealistic.

A few very fine highlights with white acrylic paint let the chrome shine.
