Diwali festival is greatly celebrated all over India, however the Golden Temple hosts one of the most extravagant celebrations of all. The Golden Temple is culturally the most significant place of worship for the Sikhs.
The temple was built with four doors to show that every religion or faith is welcomed in to meditate or just listen to the prayers for peace. Upon entering the temple, one replenishes themselves with a drink of water and then washes their feet. Upon sight of the temple, devotees kneel to the ground, bowing three times while praying.
All Sikhs are expected to undertake the rigors of meditation and selfless service to progress in their spirituality. Read Less
