The project is a Velux IVA 2012 competition entry I did together with Kamila Borucka and Magdalena Osiniak.
It concerns the problem of insufficient amount of light that bothers people living in the old pre-war buildings with so-called “well-yards”. To thoroughly study the issue, the elaboration is based on the tenement house on the Lwowska St 11th in Warsaw. On the basis of social inquiry and research, we propose a solution, which is an openwork, suspended installation. Propelled by the sunlight, rather than electricity, it absorbs light, multiplies it with reflection and illuminates the well. We call it Light Chandelier.
