the major idea was to design a public tool that everybody needs. the water quality in austria is amazing, so we decided to design a new public drink water fountain. after a short design process to develop the shape the last topic of this project was the material.
public tools have to be robust in terms of heavy use, violence and sustainability. that´s why we decided to use a material that combine all of these requirements at once. corten steel is shapeable and very strong. to prevent rust on silky outdoor metal tools after damages or heavy use we skipped that step and choose a material that has its final look from the very beginning. at the end this public water tool is sustained and timeless.
