I don’t posses the ability to express myself in precise, adequate or short terms. I never seem to find the right words to describe what I’m feeling and thinking without the initial thought becoming something else entirely.
John Green, a young american writer, verbalized to perfection what it is I’m trying to say. He said “Maybe our favorite quotes say more about us than the stories and people we’re quoting?”.
When I was sixteen I started collecting quotes. Whatever, whenever and wherever something was said or written that I felt an instant connection to. By doing so I discovered a way to fit the puzzles of my verbally disabled mind together; use what others have verbalized before you that explain in their preciseness exactly the sentiments you wish you could have conjured up yourself.
This project is the visualizations of some of my favorite quotes. They are made from inspiration the quotes haven given me, to further inspire others. What you as viewer chooses to excerpt from my visualizations is up to you entirely, but my hope is that you find as much comfort, joy and pleasure in them as I have myself.
The project has two levels. First is the finished posters owning to each quote that has been visualized, second is the compilation of sketches put together as short films, that displays the process behind each visualization.
You may do whatever you wish with my visualizations, share them with your friends, save them to your desktop or print them out and hang them on your wall. Enjoy.
