  • Belfast was once recognised for its merits in the industry of shipbuilding with it's modern history being dominated by the troubles. Harland and Wolff were recently awarded a waste management license for the dismantling of marine vessels and marine structures providing provisions to allow ship breaking to take place on-site.

It is envisaged to revert the current standings back to what was once the biggest ship building port in europe yet on a smaller scale using the initial studies of Belfast's "peace walls" as an architectural language to develop the building design. With the publicity of the‘titanic quarter’ and its signature building under construction, this seems to be a good time to promote Belfast's best known skill as part of Harland & Wolff's 150 year aniversary while also developing an environmental ethos within the industry [recycling & reconditioning].
