  • The building for the development “Amara” in Cancun is located in the north coast of the city looking towards the Island “Isla Mujeres”. It is within a 20 hectares development inside the city but with a maritime front. The project consists of three towers with 11 floors each and a basement for allocating the parking spaces. Each of the towers has 4 apartments in every floor which makes the whole building a total of 132. The apartments have different characteristics in their dimensions and in their internal organization, from studios with an open bedroom to 3 bedroom apartments.

The main idea that guided the project was to provide each of its social spaces with views towards the sea through balconies that not only provide of an external space but also protects with shadowing the inner spaces. Following the main the form of the building in its sea façade is broken by protruding towers that provide with privacy to the balconies instead of having them side by side with their neighbours.
