    Abstract
ActHand is an interactive bar counter specifically designed for lounge clubs.

The name of the project can be read in two different ways, either act hand or at hand; act hand expresses the idea of manual actions, whereas at hand implies the idea of proximity and connection when interacting.

The core aim within the piece is to merge different elements lights, visuals and low frequency sounds into an interactive experience. As a result, users would be engaged in a social context, which, by representing figuratively their actions, would provide a more involving and entertaining experience. The real challenge has been trying to design something that could not only meet but also exceed users expectations from such a setting. The project objective is to encourage multidirectional communication in the form of exchange and touch by exploring and expanding the potentialities of a collective interaction.
