New skull & zombies illustrations series. Personal project 100% vector from pencil sketch. Part of the Zombie-Nation series.
This one is a zombie girl, pin-up style and a lot of my influences (80's skate) on it. Started from pencil sketch (HB-2B) and then vector drawing on adobe illustrator, only mouse.
Once I have my lineart ready, I create some old school skateboard color palette, searching for references at SantaCruz and Powell Peralta 80's skateboard decks artwork. The result was this.
Adding some texture, to the drawing, flames on the background and some others to the front. And I have the final artwork as I originally conceive it.
And finally, the application of the artwork on a skateboard deck.
It's not a vynil sticker, but is a heat-transfer stamp over the raw deck and later a polyester barnish finish to seal the artwork.

Update (aug. 27th): I made a 100cm x 44cm version of the illustration for an collective art-exhibition.
I made Postcards too.
