ZEITRAUM - A GRAPHIC TIMELINE

To build a connection between the exhibition on the ground floor and the newly renovated collection of modernist Art and Design on the first floor i was asked to design a Timeline inside of a double staircase at the Museum for Arts and Crafts in Hamburg (MK&G). Like our brain has to spheres with very different functions the „Zeitraum“ Installation looks at time from two different perspectives. While the left side shows time as a fluid and emotionally blurred phenomenon the right side of the staircase reveals a very exact and correct view on time and history. The left side displays important cultural and artistic events while the right side reveals technological and political key events.
