“The mission of the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts shall be to establish and maintain a museum in order to house and exhibit a permanent collection of art as well as to provide space for traveling exhibitions, for the purpose of the enjoyment and education of the general public in San Angelo, Texas, and the rural communities of the Concho Valley.”
In 2011, WinshipPhillips was contacted by SAMFA to begin work on an exhibition catalogue for the artist, Zanne Hochberg. Born in Rochester, New York in 1931, Hochberg was part of an important generation of women artists that contributed to the expansion of Modernism outside of New York.
Working closely with the family of the artist, WinshipPhillips embraced her brilliance working with color in both her abstract paintings and figurative work. The 48 page + flysheet + cover catalogue titled: Zanne Hochberg, The Art of Our Time was the recipient of a silver Mitchell A. Wilder Award from the Texas Association of Museums for excellence in publication and media design.
