- This project is an experimentation in material. I sliced a block of Southern Yellow Pine into 1mm thick pieces on a table saw. At that thickness, the resinous rings of the material produced a warm orangey glow when light shined through. The following lamps were studies to learn about the behavior of the light and material in a box version and a twisted/formed version.
