Here's a sneak peek on my own personal website redesign. It's been 3 years since the last redesign and it looks a bit out of date. It also has a fixed layout and I thought it was time to make it responsive since nowadays with so many mobile/tablet adoption it makes complete sense, good bye 960px :-)
Please note that these are the first versions of the design, they are done in Adobe Fireworks CS5-CS6 and they are not definitive. I'm currently getting about 500 daily visits so my readers will judge what they like and what they don't, changes will probably be made to tweak it to perfection. Also, once it is developed the final pages will not look like these, for example, the portfolio will show 5 projects and clicking an image will display a modal window or maybe have a page of its own; the single post page will be longer, etc.
I am quite busy at the moment and it is not a priority, nevertheless, it is currently being developed using the Twitter Bootstrap which is fantastic since responsive design, lightboxes, slideshows, etc. are done in a few minutes. Next step will be implementing it into a complex Wordpress theme so that the old website just upgrades seamlessly keeping URLs, content and Googles' ranking.
