This Creative Loafing cover story was written to document the much heralded Goodie Mob reunion concert in Atlanta, Georiga. To this day, this is a rare piece that capture all four members at the same time, including the group's international star, Cee-Lo Green.

This cover story was for longstanding music publication The Source's annual Power 30 issue. The story highlighted the accomplishments and challenges of Cash Money records that is currently home of the three of the top artists in Hip Hop right now; Lil Wayne, Drake and Nicki Minaj.

This cover story is about recording artist Pill. The story juxtaposed Atlanta's dream of being the next progressive city in the U.S. with the reality that it still has a long way to go. The socio-economically driven piece used Pill's very own career path as a back drop.

Baptized In Dirty Water was a investigative profile on Jackson, Mississippi mayor Frank Melton (deceased). Published in OZONE Magazine, the story revealed his vigilante style approach to running the city. I secured a rare interview with Melton himself as well as some of his detractors and supporters.
"Saturday" is a feature I wrote for the lifestyle section of XXL Magazine. The piece revealed the developing trend of Hip Hop artists delving into the animation industry. I pooled my resources and connections to get quotes and information from popular artists including David Banner, Ludacris and E-40 as well as animation industry executives.
Flashing Lights was published in XXL Magazine. The story captured how up-and-coming video directors were ushering out the more veteran directors by shooting lower budgeted videos in the midst of a recession.
I pitched a cover story on singer Akon to RIDES Magazine. It was the first time the artist was featured on the cover.
