Window Banner Design @ 450 Mission/SF

Window Banner Design
Design/Production
Brenda Leff, Owner of luxury gift company First Street Gifts, asked us to design a series of banners for an installation in the windows at 450 Mission Street in San Francisco.

She knew the image that she wanted to convey to potential clients, but needed help honing in on a focused brand message and how to implement that message.

The space consists of the three large window panels, each made up of three sections. The building is located on a main artery to the Bay Bridge, as well as a well-traveled pedestrian street, so we knew that we had to grab both audiences' attention in different ways.  Imagery that was clear and powerful enough to catch the eye of a driver en route to work, and detailed enough for a regular passerby.

The words that kept coming up were "luxury", "Elegance", "Unique", "Fun", "Unexpected", etc.

We decided that the best approach would be to create three separate vignettes, that would exist both on their own in each window and yet also be connected by a common emotional trigger.

We spent a day in the studio shooting the gift baskets, days searching local antique shops and flea markets for the perfect styling accessories for when we propped the windows, and then created the background banners that would exist behind the actual product, creating a "world" that the baskets would live in.

Day of installation was a long one :) But KB Marketing's exceptional team all came together and created a strategically powerful and memorable installation.
