Infected Vegetables Animation Pitch Piece

This is the final beat board illustration that shows the cast of normal vegetables fighting the ultimate rotten or zombie vegetable the pumpkin boss.

These were very early sketches of what the vegetable charaters. I was originally assigned to focus on what the comic relief, mushroom character would look like. I played around with different shaping as well as personalities and ages of the character. During our meetings we came to the decision to play on the personalities of the characters by what vegetable they would be. For example the dopey comic relief character would be a mushroom, the spunky and sassy young female lead would play a pepper, and her adoptive father the wise and strong lead would be a carrot.

These were the early concept sketches of what the rotten zombie vegetables could look like. I tried to think of and research oddly shaped vegetables, vegetables that had many layers that could peel off, or vegetables that had unique and creepy shapes when they decayed. Anything that would help contribute to the look of a zombie. One of my favorite vegetables to draw was ginger. It has such a unique shape that reminded me of the infected zombies in Left for Dead.

Once we had decided on the final looks of the characters we had one member draw the main pose and choose the color swatch of each character to make them cohesive in style. The other group members were then assinged to complete two of the characters' turnarounds. I was assinged Caroline the Sassy Pepper and the Final Zombie Vegetable Boss. The GIF above shows the construction lines, final lines, and color of the completed turnaround.

This first illustration depicts the happy Farmer's Market before the zombies vegetables attack. This scene would be used as an establishing shot of the space within the Farmer's Market.
