In the coming years the RFID technology will make it possible to purchase or rent items by simply walking out of a shop with them. Exploiting the new payment procedure, the wheeler concept is changing the ownership of the shopping cart from the store to the costumers. This way you can bring your own cart into the shop, fill it up and take it back home. No need of transferring the goods into new containers or means of transport. Simply roll your wheeler home by foot or attached to your bike.

Wheeler is designed with large tires creating the ability to roll up curbstones and small stairs. Magnetic wheels create energy to keep your groceries cold on the trip home on a warm summer day.

In the creative process behind the Wheeler I worked with two approaches to creating radical innovative designs. Wanting todesign a new suitcase in the initial part of the process, I choose an ethnographic analyzing approach,where understanding of usage triggered new ideas for my design. In the later part I was exploring how to create advantages of new technologies to enhance the user experience.

Wheeler comes with two basket making it easy to transfer the goods to the kitchen at home.The cart can be personalized by changing the graphics on the wheels.
