I spent the day in Westminster on tours around the Houses of Parliament (or, to use it's official title, the Royal Palace of Westminster) and Westminster Abbey. I live in London so to spend the day as a tourist was odd but quite refreshing. It's easy to take this great city for granted. Photography in Parliament was restricted to Westminster Hall, where King Charles 1st and William Wallace (among other notorious historical characters) were tried prior to execution. Photography in the Abbey was strictly forbidden, but when has that stopped anybody?!
Note: Unlike all of my other work, these pictures were taken with my girlfriend's Canon 500D: useful for fast sneaky shots, if not for the thwack of the shutter which I obviously don't have on my compact!
