West Country Dialect
At the start of the University year we held an exhibition in Weston to raise some funds for our end of year shows. We decided to design a set of prints each based on Somerset. Through my love of typography I designed and printed a variety of West country phrases posters.
Deriving from West Country dialect, this collection of four prints uses simplistic, powerful typography to put emphasis on the regional accent and phrases common in the region. The coloured speckled background enhances the strength of the aforementioned type providing a bold, iconic set of prints.
This was quite an enjoyable project as it got us away from being on a Mac and allowed us to have some fun in the print room with various printing techniques and methods. I feel the final outcome is good and looked great when placed outdoors.
