Huang, Li-Chun (黃麗群), the author of Welcome to the Dollhouse, is a talented Taiwanese writer who has won 4 major literary prizes within 5 years in Taiwan. The design presentation combining the vivid red front cover and the black composition inside conveys the strange, imaginative yet absorbing moods in the book. The scene of a half-open door revealed on front cover implies the scenery which the main character sees in the story. When a reader opens the cover, s/he would discover a whole upside-down scenery with texts of an email which visually presents the plots in the novel.
