Karen's wedding print materials
wedding invitation, ceremony program and save-the-date cards
Karen wanted a modern look for her invitations, but her ceremony venue was very ornate, formal, and Victorian. To incorporate both styles, the term “modern ornate” was coined, and all the printed documents were to express this idea. The fall wedding’s color scheme was ivory and plum, and the flower to be used was the plum cala lily.
The goal of the ceremony program was to fit a large amount of information in an elegant and organized layout. A concise summary of two ceremonies, a “sand ceremony” and a “navajo vase ceremony” needed to be written, along with a list of ceremony events, bridal party names, reception information, and a memorial paragraph. The phrase on the front “All because two people fell in love” creates a story by ending with the phrase on the back “And they lived happily ever after.” The Save-the-Date cards had a more casual feel than the invitations, but still included some ornate details.
