Webdesign Trends
A personnal project on finding, analysing, templating webdesign trends
As webdesigners we embrace trends: and why not, they enrich our vocabulary, set directions, create tensions between different propositions, what we know and what we hadn't seen or imagined yet...

In the meantime, we revile them: a trend has like cult followers, like zombies set in one direction by a sometimes faceless, already forgotten leader.

We need to copy and better these trends: as webdesigners, we try to get to their virtues, meet their shortcomings and limits. And at the same time, we try to create a very unique visual language and style for ourselves.

This work in progress is a first draft to tackle webdesign trends and put them under light and critical scrutiny, both in terms of theoritical approach: when did they appear, why, how, how did they become mainstream, when did they reach obsolescence?
And in terms of practical approach: what is their recipes in Ps or Il? What workflow do they call for?

The two pages are two modes of the home page: one with large preview of each article / trend, one with a very condensed approach. I used two artworks that are not mine just for demo's sake.

I really would love to have critics on this if you can find interest in the subject and this first draft. Thanks for your attention and help.

By the way, i am searching for people interested in finding and criticizing webdesign trends. Everyone with an eye and some words on the ready is welcome. :-)
