  • The Virgin Hair Fantasy

    The Virgin Hair Fantasy offers quality hair extensions made entirely from human hair, free of harsh chemicals or coloring. The company offers a variety of textures for its customers.

    Mars Design created a website for The Virgin Hair Fantasy that allows the company’s products to take precedence over everything else. The website features large, vivid photographs and user-friendly navigation. Customers are able to quickly and easily purchase products. We also designed the company’s confident, feminine logo, and a gift card for the company.

  • Tony Nakhla

    Dr. Tony Nakhla, known as “America’s Dermatologist,” has been featured in dozens of media outlets, including CNN, MSNBC, SELF and ELLE. Highly regarded as a skincare and beauty expert, Dr. Nakhla is also the author of the best-selling book, “The Skin Commandments: 10 Rules to Healthy Beautiful Skin.”

    Mars Design created a modern website for Dr. Tony Nakhla, with detailed information about the doctor’s background and media appearances. The website also includes a blog, events calendar and content management system, which allows the client to update the website without outside help.

    Mars Design is also working with Dr. Nakhla to rebrand his practice, The OC Skin Institute, and a new product line.

  • 191 Unlimited

    Clothing company 191 Unlimited began improbably a decade ago when two best friends entered a casino with $191. They left with enough money to launch their first menswear collection. With a little more luck and a lot of hard work, the brand has grown and is now offered in more than 1,000 stores, including Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s and Dillard’s. 

    Mars Design overhauled the company’s website, transforming its design and navigation, easily allowing users to browse through various clothing styles and fashions. The site includes e-commerce, “lookbook” and store locator features for consumers’ ease.

  • Henhouse Prowlers

    Photos.com—a division of Getty Images –partnered with Mars Design in its website makeover contest in which it gave one lucky business a website makeover. The website was fully financed by Photos.com, which asked Mars Design to partner with it to design and develop the website.

    Bluegrass band Henhouse Prowlers won the makeover through a Facebook contest in which thousands voted for the business most in need of a makeover.

    Mars Design created a website for the Chicago-based band that reflects its down-home yet cosmopolitan attitude. The site that draws attention to the band's tour schedule, allows fans to preview music and view photographs and videos from electrifying live performances. The site also includes a content management system that allows the band to easily update the site content.

    Roving CFOs, a forward-thinking financial services company, helps small businesses gain control of their finances. It offers a variety of services that will aid companies in streamlining operations, reporting accurate financials and negotiating contracts.

    We created a streamlined modern website forRoving CFOs that conveys the company's expertise and professionalism. At the same time, the site also expresses a slight sense of whimsy, indicating that Roving CFOs was not a typical financial services company. The website also emphasizes Roving CFOs’ variety of services and wealth of knowledge.

  • Altruette Website

    Jewelry company Altruette offers a unique line of philanthropic charm bracelets and necklaces. The company creates charms to represent nonprofit organizations, or "cause partners," which receive half of the net profit from the sale of their charms. Altruette's goal is "to create beautiful objects to further beautiful causes," say the founders, two former journalists.

    The site includes a content managementsystem, giving the company the ability to manage sales and inventory. The system also affords Altruette easy oversight of its website, allowing the client to conveniently update the site's content as well as track site usage data.

  • Hammock Boutique
    (Winner of Adobe Business Catalyst site of the month, September 2010)

    Mexico-based Hammock Boutique sells handwoven Mayan hammocks from the Yucatan Peninsula. The weavers work on hammocks from home to supplement their families' income, allowing the weavers flexibility. The Hammock Boutique supplies the weavers with all of the material to make the hammocks.

    To help the company prepare for its foray into the U.S. market, we helped Hammock Boutique with its branding. We also created a website for Hammock Boutique, with a design that draws from the natural and homespun appeal of the hammocks. The site includes e-commerce features, and also contains a content management system, allowing Hammock Boutique to easily manage sales and inventory, track site usage, and update the site.

  • Jewish Women's Foundation
    Winner of 2011 Silver Davey Award inCharitable Organization Category

    Established in 1995, The Jewish Women's Foundation of New York seeks to help women in Jewish communities in New York and Israel through grants, education and advocacy. The foundation has awarded nearly $2 million to dozens of projects that address a number of women's issues, including body image, dating violence, bullying, Jewish education, leadership and financial literacy.

    Mars Design developed a user-friendly and informative website for the foundation, allowing users to easily access information about the organization's initiatives and make donations to the foundation. The website also includes a content management system, which allows the foundation to update its website without outside help. Mars Design achieved a Silver Davey Award in the Charitable Organization category for its work on the foundation's website.

    Cosmetic giant L'Oréal has sold cosmetics for more than a century, helping women and men achieve beauty. The company hopes to make access to beauty universal.

    Ahead of a L'Oréal Earth Day initiative, Mars Design helped the company emphasize its eco-friendly efforts through a clean, colorful and interactive kiosk presentation that helped educate its employees and customers in offices and stores. The display showcased the company's efforts to reduce water consumption during its manufacturing process, implement biodegradable designs in packaging and offer products with all-natural formulas.

    Established in 2009, Let There Be Bite is an online specialty food guide that helps users find, buy, and cook high quality, healthy food. It targets epicureans who value health as much as flavor.

    Mars Design created a modern and inviting website for Let There Be Bite, which offers recipes, product reviews, otherrecommendations and a blog.     Winner of two Silver Davey Awards in 2007, for excellence in Navigation and Professional services categories


    New York-based Gallin Design Studio has won numerous awards for its architecture, interior design and planning. Itemphasizes adaptable designs, rendered with contemporary style.

    Mars Design worked with Gallin Design Studio to rebrand the company, creating a clean, bold and iconic logo and a website that matches Gallin's modern style, incorporating translucent layers and clean lines within the site's design. An intuitive interface allow users to easily navigate the website and explore the studio's work. The site displays vivid images and site plans for many of the studio's projects, which vary from residential to corporate to institutional work. Mars Design garnered two Silver Davey Awards for Gallin's website, for excellence in navigation and professional services.

    Gallin Studio recently merged with Beeler Architects to become Gallin Beeler Design Studio. We’re working on a number of site updates to help the company navigate the merger.

    A leader in providing marketing solutions fortop pharmaceutical companies, Advanced Health Media, (AHM), knows the importance of design and presentation.

    It began an innovative program called Venue Vantage, which works to pair venues and restaurants with events that AHM sponsors. The website has membership features and allows restaurants and venues register and promote their facilities, features and menus to AHM and its partners at discounted rates.

  • Charmin NYC Restrooms Website
     
    Every holiday season, the beloved toilet paper brand “Charminizes” twenty public restrooms in Times Square, providing clean, fully staffed facilities to hundreds of thousands of visitors.

    For two years, Mars Design created an animated "microsite" to build buzz for the annual event. The promotionalmicrosite featured two unique interactive features. The first, a kid-friendly game involving the brand's "Call to Nature" bears, encouraged participants to throw rolls of bathroom tissue to the bears in the woods. A "Flush-o-Meter" calculated results for a bathroom tissue debate of strong versus soft. An interactiveworldwide map displayed real-time results, showing state-by-state and country-by-country data of consumer preference for type of toilet tissue. The site also provided music downloads and directions and general event information.

Potential buyers fully explore promising homes on Amanda & Sheena's website, easily navigating through quick-loading photographs and descriptions. The website also features tips for "living green" and a blog, which highlights the pair's unique, worldly perspective on real estate.

  • Remy Martin "Get Interesting" Website
     
    Fine Champagne cognac-producer Remy Martin,established in 1724, only uses grapes from two French regions, the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne, both of which contain a particular type of soil that yields a rich, complex Champagne cognac.

    Mars Design developed a microsite to promote the upcoming 2007 Remy Martin Summer tour, which featured up-and-coming hip-hop artists. The edgy site invited users to learn more about the tour. The site also included animated screen savers that users could download.

    We created an invitation-only website for RVPInterior Collections that highlights the company's capabilities and services and includes a 3-dimensional virtual tour and a robust members-only area. The area includes an e-commerce feature, allowing members to purchase design packages online.

    The private website also includes a content management system, allowing the client to easily update the website with new offers and partners.

    Winner of 2006 Davey Award for Excellence in Navigation

    Russ Berrie & Co. was one of the world's largest manufacturers of plush toys, including stuffed animals and other items. It was also one of the New York Area's largest publicly held companies. In 2009, the company changed its named its name to Kid Brands.

    For Russ Berrie & Co., Mars Design developed a playful, whimsical website that mirrored the fun, kid-friendly nature of the company and its products. The website featured large, colorful photographs of children and the company's lovable toys. In 2006, Mars Design won a Davey Award for the website's excellence in navigation.

  • Meastock-- Coming Very Soon!

    A revolutionary wave of protests has rocked the Arab world for more than a year. Popular uprisings, notably in Egypt and Tunisia, toppled long-term governments, showing protesters overtaking authoritarian regimes.

    At this time of unprecedented change, Meastock.com, an online media brokerage website, is poised to capture events inthe region from the eyes of ordinary citizens. The Egypt-
    based website gathers video and photographs from citizen journalists in the Middle East and promotes the material to buyers all around the world. The video portal makes the content available for news agencies around the world, with the journalists earning a commission of all sales their media generates.

    Meastock.com is constantly updated through user-generated content that members in the Middle East or Africa regions upload through their accounts.

    We created a website that showcases Meastock’s large user-generated library of video and photographs from the Middle East region. The website allows users to sell their photographs or videos and track their earnings. We also designed the company's Facebook landing page, allowing it to interact with users effectively on the social networking site.

    Mars Design also created an assertive, dynamic logo for Meastock.com.

    A sophisticated online portal into the world of emerging art, COMPANY operates as a social network, e-commerce site, blog and forum for artists and art lovers. The website serves as a free, objective marketplace where collectors can buy and sell their art.

    COMPANY members have access to an annual calendar of complimentary member-only parties and meet-the-artist events — all aimed at fostering the growth of the emerging art community.

    We designed and developed the robust website, which allows users to create a profile, browse interactive galleries and buy and sell art. Unlike other markets, COMPANY’s members are free to directly negotiate with each other, without auction markups or expensive intermediaries.

  • Westchester Community College

    Founded in 1946, Westchester Community College, member of the State University of New York (SUNY) system, now boasts an enrollment of about 12,000 full and part-time students, in addition to several thousand continuing education students. The college’s main campus is located on more than 200 wooded acres in Valhalla, New York, and has extension sites in nine other cities in the county.

    With its rapid growth, the college sought to upgrade its appearance and create a website that would speak to its growing population. We redesigned the college’s website, giving it a more modern look, creating consistency throughout the site and making it easier to navigate. We also included social networking features.

    The new website is professional and polished, fitting for a college that educates and influences so many.
