Web App Dashboard UI

Corrisoft, an international technology startup providing software and hardware for the corrections industry, asked me to redesign the user interface of their web app -- specifically on the call center & supervisor dashboards. This included reorganizing the information into a series of "portlets" or preview panes that pulled data from the mail interfaces, the calendar, and the call center queue. I added color codes to the call center queue, having the events display in red, yellow or gray -- depending upon urgency or severity. I also defined the colors to be consistent with other parts of the app, such as the calendar, and the company's brand colors.

Because the web app was not responsive, part of this project included creating a queue list that could easily be resized for smaller devices; removing unnecessary columns and fields; and replacing text links with clickable icons and buttons. I designed the icons to be flat, user-friendly, intuitive and aligned with other iconography being used throughout the web app and mobile apps.

One last piece of this project involved adding new user capabilities, such as the ability to change the queue order -- moving items further up or down the list to give added or decreased "weight" -- and allowing supervisors to manually assign items to and from various call center employees. For consistency, I added the same color coding and iconography to this view of the application.

This web app was built using CakePHP and traditional PHP coding along with basic HTML(5)CSS(3) and jQuery. All icons were created using either Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator
