  • Waterloo Records is the biggest music store in Austin, Texas and remains fiercely independent. The logo circles represent the types of media found at the store: CDs, LPs, and DVDs. The color story begins with the idea of the collector, and ties back to Waterloo's reputation as a deep catalog store with a knowledgeable staff.

  • This poster would be used throughout the city in coffee shops, on the university campus, and in community gathering spaces to raise awareness about the store and the benefit of owning physical copies of albums. The message is silk-screened on the spines of records.

  • Twice a year, Waterloo holds a storewide sale. To promote the event in the store, posters would be fashioned from discarded LP sleeves, silk-screened with the appropriate information. Discarded LPs are a renewable, free resource at the store, making this advertisement low-cost and environmentally responsible.
  • While researching the project, I created this mood board. It explores typography, key ideas, color, texture, and inspiration culled from related and distant ephemera.
