These portraits were an experiment in style.  I used unnatural colors for skin tones and allowed the paint to mix freely.  This gave my paintings a more loose and spontaneous look.  The experiment was inspired by painter Charles Reid.

I also wanted to focus on the human face.  Interesting facial expressions are something I enjoy reproducing in my artwork.
