Walnut Zero-waste table

Winner of the Sheikha Manal Young Artist Award - 2nd place in the Design category .

A narrow long table I designed and made to activate an inactive part of the living room. Wood used: Walnut.
-The first of a family of various iterations and proportions.

The design uses no glue nor screws and is completely tight fitted using a simple wood joint, and relying on a simple structural concept to help the span as well as the bracing of the table.

The design includes the consideration of fully using the stock wood, meaning that there is no waste, or very minimized waste which could be easily reusable. Because of this, the exact dimensions are appropriated to the amount of wood to maximuze efficiency.

Dimensions are 34cm X 172cm X 72cm
