  • What is a Memory?
An exploration of memories in printing
  • Traditional printing techniques can be time consuming. We as humans never really obtain a true sense of time. There is the present, the past and the future. Each human has their own specific attitude towards each but we can apply some general characteristics to the perception of time as a whole. The past generally evokes a sense of nostalgia, the present is forever short and long, we struggle with the limited time we have yet we are constantly itching, scratching, and racing towards our future.

Due to the requirements in etching and letterpress printing of forcing the participant to slow down, focus, refine their thoughts, ideas and create a plan prior to starting I knew it was the perfect medium for me to use in exploring the idea of memories, thoughts, process and the emotion I attach to each idea.
