Our first project in VISC 414 - Publication Editorial was to redesign a book we had read as an illustrated book. I chose this book because I loved the voice and character of the narrator and I had first hand experience with being a waiter and dealing with similar issues as the ones featured in the story. I could directly relate to the narrator's trials and the book itself is a hilarious read!
I chose a color palette that is used by many restaurants which consists of neutral hues and shades of green. I also felt that using photography as illustrative material really fit the sophisticated yet sarcastic nature of the main character and helped to propel the reader into the restaurant environment as they read.
