WTS 2012 Gala

WTS is an international organization dedicated to the advancement of women in the transportation industry. WTS has professional programs, networking opportunities, provides access to industry and government leaders, and mentoring and scholarship programs. Every year, the NC Triangle chapter of WTS holds an annual awards and scholarship gala.
Some of the promotional material needed includes a save the date and invitation to the gala. The client specified that a starry moonlit night over a city or Raleigh skyline would need to be part of the theme for the event, as the 2012 gala is entitled “A Night of New Horizons.” In addition, material was developed for the website.
After a brainstorming session with the client, the two pieces were developed through sketching, then produced and refined in Illustrator and Photoshop. The save the date piece was sent out about two weeks before the invitation. On the invitation, I devised four symbols, one for each corner, to represent roadways, bridges, rail, and airports, some of the major categories for the transportation design/build industry. These symbols will carry on to additional material that will be present at the gala.
