BLIZZARD OF JANUARY 2011
Snow gently falling
down
deceptively beautiful and yet deadly
each and every flake unique.
Trillions of flakes become
a blizzard as they dance to the
howling of the wind that
slashes through the heavy winter clothing
of those brave enough or foolish enough
to venture outside.
Walking is difficult, seeing is impossible
in wind-driven white
that buries everything in its way.
On the road drivers
flirt with death as their
vehicles slide
totally out of control
like bumper cars gone wild.
Death by snow is not the way to go.
