Client Vogue (mock situation)
Brief This project involved redesigning the cover of an existing magazine as one of our last
projects in our Design Advanced Class.
Concept Although we had to choose a magazine with a weak cover for this brief, I chose Vogue magazine
because it has somewhat of a strongly designed cover and I feel that it's much harder to redesign
something with a strong design. My inspiration came from old magazine covers that used to
be illustrated. I wanted to bring in illustrative elements and photographic elements as well as
strong typography. Usually Vogue will feature a fine artist every month and I thought it would be
interesting to have the feature artist create something for the cover every month.
