This new identity system for the Virginia Zoo was inspired by simplification in message and
communication, to help visitors navigate the park. Simple silhouettes of the animals were
created to guide visitors. A balance between clarity and the whimsy of the zoo were
maintained throughout the process.
The logo was inspired by long time residents of the zoo, a pair of Siberian Tigers, who
recently passed away. The logo is a nice remembrance and symbolizes what the Virginia
Zoo promotes, the welfare and happiness of animals.
