Colonia de Sacramento is a sleepy tourist town on the Coast of Rio de la Plata in Uruguay. It's an hour's ferry ride from bustling Buenos Aires and a popular little nook to spend a quiet weekend sailing, sipping mate, and stolling along cobblestone streets. You can also rent motorized buggies and drive like a bat out of hell all over town and even find some sandy beaches. The town has an old fort and colonial architecture and has been designated a popular UNESCO world heritage site by the United Nations.
To me visiting Colonia is like turning back the clock 20 years and sometimes even 100. I also turn off my watch, enjoy a seaside cafe and always snap a few shots. Because it has so much history, I was inspired to shoot something with a vintage feel to it.
