For this book, I traveled to a small town in Iowa by the name of Vinton. The town’s motto is the “City of Lights.” I explored the new and interesting typefaces on various signage around town. I really enjoyed my experience when I came across a junkyard that was filled with all sorts of vernacular text. I found old tractors, firetrucks, buses, mowers and more.
