    The name Van der Grinten is an institution on the international art scene. We were delighted when Nadia and Franz von der Grinten commissioned us in 2012 to create a new corporate identity for the Cologne-based Van der Grinten Galerie. A friendship binds us with the two galerists and we also highly value the cooperation with artist Simon Schubert, who they represent.
     
    The design concept for the new logo was based on two ideas. The founders and spirit behind the gallery should be shown, firmly associated with the two levels of the new gallery space, and the new concept. We decided upon a minimalist design, to leave plenty of room for the art. The logo was created using a modified Futura in black on off-white. Only the word  ‘Galerie’ appears in color. The largest space on the invitation is reserved for the artwork of the respective artist; the invitation also serves as the exhibition poster.
