This project started with a journey to Belgium and my excitement of travelling, documenting
and photographing places. At a later stage it involved my room like Duchamp's 'Mile of String', which mapped
my movements in a day and ended up with billboards of ‘text maps’, which record my
observations and experiences while being still in a location for one hour. With a small
notebook and a pen, I was trying to record everything I saw or heard and also my
unconscious. The results were long lists of texts, which when read together, sometimes
form poetic sentences. As poetry moves, I proposed to communicate these texts with
rotating light boxes in public spaces. The billboards can work as public intervention, where
the public will have the chance to stop and notice things and even reconsider ideas like
mapping and sense of place. Read Less
