In the first Rocky movie, Rocky Balboa is not dramatized in any form. He is an underdog and an unlikely hero. Certain parts of the movie put him in scenes with a lot of awkward silence, and his background is much less than a high class environment. This drawing was meant to emphasize the lack of idealized traits that Rocky held. He wasn't rich, he wasn't well-known, he wasn't intelligent, but through all the obstacles he may have faced, he had overcome the status quo many people had put him into.
