The client wanted a simple but attractive cover that illustrated the idea of combining musical creativity with audio technological knowledge. He wanted to use colours which are bright, but leave the cover looking modern and appealing.
The final artwork includes a man on the spine of the book having a creative side (the back of the book), and a technical side (the front cover). The different instruments, and technical equipment were enclosed in banners all flowing towards the man, all being combined by the human body - the brain was the fundamental bridge to combine the creative and the technical sides.
After having discussed the concept with the author, the first draft drawing was created by hand, then translated into vectors in Adobe Illustrator. The final composition was brought together using Adobe InDesign.
