Our final work is based upon multiple observations made during the material's experimenting process.

Plywood offers great structural qualities which enables assembling relatively thin components without jeopardizing the overall strengh of the module. After working on numerous cutted patterns directly on plywood planks, we came across a satisfying way of giving flexibility to a plain hard surface. It came as a logical step to put this principle to a furniture requiring particular structural challenges such as a seat.

The obtained flexibility offers good confort to this purpose.

The chosen pattern is inspired by the striped circular surface of a wood log. It's round shape led us to develop a three feet stool. The elements that hold the feet had to correspond to the round curves of the top and reveal the esthetic potential of the plywood layers.
In order to keep the idea of a wood log as our main inspiration lead, we decided to wrap one of the feet with birch-tree bark, found in the nearby woods.
Finally, we used blue color to emphasize the visual effect of the cutted layers, that are revealed when pressure is applied in the center of the top surface.
