The aim of the project was to design a simple, beautiful and efficient object using one material.
The concept is based on the sword scabbard. The umbrella is fully covered inside the tube, leaving only the stick visible, while the rain drops would drain down. To avoid moisture, the tube is closed on the bottom by a half circle.
It is very cost efficient and quick to manufacture as it is built of ø 60mm stainless tubes invisibly welded at one point and coated in color as desired.
