The book, “U” and “I”, introduces the life of my classmateRhett and me from born to now. Rhett is a New Jersey boy and I come fromChina. We were born in totallydifferent countries and grown up in different cultures and education. In thepast 25 years we didn’t know each other, because our countries have a distanceof 20000 km, which is almost half of the circumference of the earth. However,we met together and became classmate in Pratt Institute. It’s a miracle.

The whole book compares our answers to same questions.Through these same or totally different answers, readers can get to know theculture and new generation’s values of life between the two countries, Chinaand America. Such as, “who gives you the name and what’s the meaning for yourname?”; Rhett’s answer is “my father’s favorite baseball team won the game, somy name is one of the baseball players’ name”. My answer is “my father is theonly person who has right to give me the name. My name’s meaning is to be ahealthy man”.
The book is composed by two same size books, one is forRhett, the other is for me. They are both divided into 5 chapters, which areaccording to our five ages period, 0-5 years old, 5-10, 10-15…

There is no graphic or pictures in the book. I use onlytypeface, Univers, to show different information between the two books. I useblue in Rhett’s part, because it stands for America. Red stands for China, soit’s in my part.
