Typography is something that i love. There is so much beauty in the simplicity of words, letters, and type faces.
"FlexABLE" made for the Nike Free Run + Running Shoes
This idea spawned from a copywriting assignment. I was trying to come up with a creative way of featuring one of theproduct's attributes. I decided to use FlexABLE, because these shoes are just that. The flexibility in the shoe is themost prominent feature and the unique selling point I decided to focus on. The graphic also conveys theproductattribute; flexibility. My goal for this piece was to stay and very single minded.
"A Day In The Life"
This piece comes from the idea of how dependent we are on electricity. The spread flows from left to right. The typecoming in from the left sets the type in concrete and allows it to look very solid. I made sure that the plug-in came from "Life" because it amplifies the idea of dependency.
Namasté Manta Graphic
made for the Namasté Sailing Team
This graphic roots in origins in Latin, Tahitian, and Polynesian cultures. The sailing team, consisting of Chris and Jessica Catt, have traveled and are traveling many parts of the southern hemisphere where these cultures are very present. The om symbol and manta were requested by the team. The compass rose and waves were placed in the graphic because they are both symbols that are very important to sailing.
"Inversion of Expectation" - Larry Steinburg
Larry Steinburg is one of my copywriting professor. When discussing copywriting, he coined this phase and it really stuck with me. The graphic does exactly what the text says. The red N is the inversion of the expectation.
Action Verb Typography
This word does what it says. All of the letters are fused together.
