בזמן האחרון נראה שאזרחי ישראל ונציגיהם בבית המחוקקים החליטו שהדמוקרטיה אינה חשובה כל כך
.ולעיתים אף מפריעה
כל יומיים עולה איזו הצעת חוק גזענית, מתרחש מקרה של אלימות מופרזת מצד שוטרים וחיילים, פעילים פוליטים נרדפים, זכויות אדם נרמסות והאווירה הכללית היא של אלימות, השתקה ופחד

This is my senior project in visual communication studies in HIT - Holon Institute of Technology, 2010
This project criticizes my country's current government's anti-democratic direction in the past two years. It is a series of illustrations that show an apocalyptic future scenario, in order to provoke and raise questions among Israelis about the direction the country is heading.
The text under each drawing is an example of something that has happened recently, that demonstrates the project's message.

נאמנות עיוורת
בחודש אפריל 2009 הגישה מפלגת ישראל ביתנו את הצעת "חוק הנאמנות". על פי ההצעה, קבלת אזרחות ישראלית תותנה בחתימה על הצהרת אמונים "למדינת ישראל כמדינה יהודית, ציונית ודמוקרטית, לסמליה ולערכיה". ההצעה הטילה על כל אזרח חובת שירות בצבא או במסגרות חלופיות והסמיכה את שר הפנים לשלול אזרחות מכל אדם שלא יחתום על ההצהרה או שלא ישרת את המדינה
Blind Loyalty
On April 2009 the "Israel Beiteinu" (Israel Our Home) party presented a legislative bill that came to be called the "Loyalty Law". According to the bill, receiving an Israeli citizenship should be dependent on agreeing and signing a declaration of "loyalty to the state of Israel as aJewish, Zionist and Democratic state, to its symbols and values respectively". The bill obligates every citizen to serve in the Israeli military or in the ranks of alternative organizations, and authorizes the Minister of Internal Affairs to revoke the citizenship of whoever refuses to sign or to serve the country according to the aforementioned declaration.

בחודש מאי 2010 נמנעה כניסתו לישראל של הבלשן פרופסור נעם חומסקי, אחד ממבקרי מדיניות ישראל בשטחים. משרד הפנים אישר שההחלטה שהתקבלה היתה שלו. חומסקי אמר בראיון כי נאמר לו שהממשלה אינה אוהבת את דיעותיו ואת העובדה שהוא בחר לבקר באוניברסיטת ביר-זית ולא באוניברסיטה ישראלית
Against the Spirit
On May 2010 Professor Noam Chomsky, a renowned linguist and critic of Israeli policy in the occupied territories, was denied entry into the occupied territories. The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed that the decision was theirs and within the bounds of the ministry's jurisdiction. In an interview following the incident, Chomsky mentioned that he was told that the government does not approve of his opinions and of the fact that he chose to visit Bir-zeit University instead of an Israeli University.

בעקבות פרסום מסקנות דו"ח ועדת גולדסטון, שהאשים את ישראל והחמאס בביצוע פשעי מלחמה, העלתה תנועת "אם תרצו" קמפיין שהציג את ארגוני זכויות האדם כמשתפי פעולה עם האוייב. התנועה הציגה דו"ח שטוען כי רוב העדויות המרשיעות בדו"ח גולדסטון מקורן בארגונים ישראליים. על רקע זה הוגשה במאי 2010 הצעת חוק לפיה יוצאו אל מחוץ לחוק עמותות וארגונים ישראליים, המוסרים מידע לרשויות זרות ופועלים להעמדתם לדין של קצינים ומדינאים בחשד לביצוע פשעי מלחמה

Following the publication of the Goldstone Committee's conclusions, that accuse both Israel and Hamas of war crimes,
the "Im Tirtzu" movement launched a media campaign that presents Human Rights organizations as collaborators with the enemy. The movement published a report claiming that most of the convictive testimonies comprising Goldstone's report originate in various Israeli Human Rights organizations. What followed in May 2010 was a legislative bill that proposed the delegitimization of all Israeli organizations and associations providing information to foreign authorities in order to bring military officers and politicians suspected of committing war crimes to justice.

בשנת 2002 חודשה פעילותה של המועצה הדמוגרפית, שמטרתה להמליץ על פעולות שיבטיחו את שמירת הרוב היהודי בישראל
בהקשר זה אמר שר העבודה והרווחה דאז, שלמה בניזרי, "החשש שאנו עלולים לאבד את אופייה הייחודי של מדינת ישראל מחייב אותנו לפעול על מנת שלא נהיהמיעוט במדינתנו בעוד עשר – עשרים שנה"

Shlomo Benizri, serving atthe time as the Minister of Social Affairs, stated in this context that "the fear of losing Israel's unique character obligates us to take action so as not to become a minority inour own country within a decade or two".
בהקשר זה אמר שר העבודה והרווחה דאז, שלמה בניזרי, "החשש שאנו עלולים לאבד את אופייה הייחודי של מדינת ישראל מחייב אותנו לפעול על מנת שלא נהיהמיעוט במדינתנו בעוד עשר – עשרים שנה"

בחודש מאי 2010 תקף חבר מועצת העיר באר שבע, זכריה אוהב שלום, את החלטת העירייה לממן את מצעד הגאווה בעיר . לדבריו "אני לא שונא את הקהילה ההומו-לסבית בבאר שבע, אבל הם פשוט חולים וצריכים טיפול".י

בחודש יולי 2009 אישרה ועדת השרים לענייני חקיקה את הצעת חוק הנכבה, אשר בתחילה ביקשה לקבוע עונש מאסר למי שיציין את יום העצמאות כיום אבל וכעת מבקשת לשלול מימון ציבורי מגוף שמציין זאת. ימים ספורים לאחר מכן, הוחלט במשרד החינוך להסיר את המושג "נכבה" מתוכנית הלימודים במגזר הערבי
