Tres Manos - From Concept to Finished Piece

"Tres Manos"
From Concept to Final Touches
The Precolumbian Mola Watercolor Series  often triggers requests for larger paintings.  An artifact from the Jama-Coaque Culture inspired the colorful image #5  (See below)   This painting has a strong impact on many Ecuadorians who view the Jama-Coaque Hand for the first time;  Dr. Roberto Moreno of Quito and Manta Ecuador commissioned a much-larger version as a tromp l'oeil mural for his reception area.     He wanted the believability of a mural while having the option of moving the painting  in the future.

Dr. Moreno's clients helped with the final application of black paint as they ebbed and flowed into the office.  The experiment proved a success, and the clients' energies contributed to a vibrant work that greets everyone who enters the office.
