This project was a group project done among my studio of eleven students. I drew and watercolored all of the final plan plates with one other student. I also rendered the marble effect on the title blocks. This project has a complex program. It is done assuming the Tiber River flooding problem has been remedied by a proposal that is currently being reviewed. The goal is to reconnect this part of the city to the river, retaining the historic aresenale structure and the historic wall and Porte Portese that runs through the site. We attempted to link our site to a pedestrian path beginning at the Isola Tiberina. We proposed a commercial street by the river to replace the current commercial shacks on the site and a church dedicated to Santa Maria dell' Orazione, whose shrine is on the site and carries a strong devotion. We moved the actual shrine about 10 feet along the road from its current site to a more glorified site on the historic wall. For the second part of the semester, I worked alone to design a proposal for the church and parish house to be built on the site.
