With the release of the third installment of the cinematic version of Transformers quickly approaching, Hasbro Entertainment & Licensing engaged my firm, Design Force, Inc., to identify new trends and develop the design assets for its licensing program. To differentiate this program from those created for the first two films, we felt the design assets should also take on a fresh, new look. Our solution was to develop pencil illustrations of the characters in a spontaneous, gestural style, then incorporate them into artwork for the style guide, which could be used by licensees in the development of Transformers: Dark of the Moon consumer products.
