I was given these jumbled lists of numbers and cities based on the top–ten populations from 1950 to 2008, which I certainly didn’t want to read. So, I had to devise a way to somehow make people care about the urban growth that was sprawled out in front of me.
I knew people would only pay attention if they were engaged. So, I solved this problem with a radar graphic to draw people in, and then they see they can follow a city and its growth through the years. The interesting findings at the bottom give people a few key points to take away.
