  • We were set the task to promote a new Topman collection, in collaboration with The Wellcome Collection.
As an entrepreneur, the first product Sir Henry Wellcome advertised was 'invisible ink'.
I looked into ways I could make ‘invisible ink’ work in advertising the collection, which I named ‘The Science of Fashion’. My research led me to thermochromic ink, which almost entirely disappears when it reaches a certain temperature. I used this ink to screen-print the promotional material in several different formats.
  • Sir Henry Wellcome coined the word ‘tabloid’ to be used to market his new medicines in the smaller capsule form. I found the idea behind this word would fit the look book perfectly as it is an overview of the collection presented in a condensed form.
  • I also created labels to be attached to the clothing in the collection. These would also be printed using thermochromic ink.
  • Thanks for looking.
